We say, keep up the good work girls!
So it’s that time of year again. Yep, it’s on the 30th of March this year and it’s heading towards us at lightning speed! Have you guessed it? We’re talking about Mother’s Day. The time when we all must take a knee and show our appreciation to our marvellous mothers. The day when (hopefully) mothers everywhere will be receiving breakfast in bed, a steady stream of ‘thank you’s,’ and a card that puts into print just how much she means to you. The latter can be done with ease, it’s finding great mothers day gifts that show our mums just how much she means to us that can get our stress levels pumping. We’ve all been there in that moment of panic and despair when her favourite restaurant is fully booked, her most-loved flowers are out of season and you got her chocolates the last 3 years on the trot. ‘What to do?’ you ask yourself. Well, our mothers day presents department may be just the place to relieve you of those mothers day traumas. We have been preparing for this day since last Mother’s Day to make sure that you impress your mum on the special day, and having thought carefully about it for a year, you could say that we’ve become quite the experts in the art of Mothering Sunday. We have all sorts of mothers day gift ideas that are just waiting for your impatient perusal, from us to you. So, without further ado, here are a few mothers day ideas to inspire you for the best Mother’s Day yet:
Mum type 1: Pamper me!
Does your mum need some peace and quiet? Or is it time she really self-indulged? The stressful life of motherhood is often coupled with the rapid and painful decrease of one’s free time and especially the time available to pamper oneself – a serious crime in women’s culture. We’ve been on the hunt for all kinds of relaxation and pampering aids that don’t require you to pay a fortune for a spa treatment. The Hot Stones Therapy Kit for example, uses river stones and the power of aromatherapy to relax, rebuild and rebalance, and the best part is that it can be used again and again. We bet it has been a long time since your mum had a manicure or a pedicure. A hand care set or a pedicure set may be just the thing to get you into her good books this Mother’s Day. Or even something like a set of moisturising gloves and moisturising socks can give your mum the pampering she deserves.
Mum type 2: Pretty things!
All mums like pretty things. Anything that shines or sparkles is generally a winner and you can never have too many pieces of jewellery, the more the merrier we say and we know that your mum will agree. There’s nothing like receiving a compliment about a new necklace or a new pair of earrings to obtain that instant feel-good pleasure about yourself. And all that can be given to your mum this Mother’s Day by you and by presenting her with some elegant jewellery as an unusual mothers day gift. For this, we have sourced the LoveLibbyX jewellery range which contains all kinds of unique and elegant jewellery to make your mother smile and feel good about herself this Mother’s Day.
Mum type 3: Home accessories
We all know that we drive our mums a bit crazy, but fear not, because Mother’s Day is the time to make amends and show our mums just how much they mean to us in a hope to convince them that we’re not all that bad. You might consider trying to make up for leaving the house in a mess or not doing your weekly chores by giving your mother a brand new home accessory. All mothers are house proud and no matter how recently the house has been re-decorated you can be sure that your mum is convinced that it’s in need of a renovation, so by giving your mum a mothers day present for the home you can show her that you care too and it’s one step in the right direction for a re-vamp. For instance, we have found a selection of great homeware gifts that combine both contemporary design and funky style to give the home a quick-fix makeover and please your mother.
We hope that you have found our Mother’s Day advice useful so that you and your mum can have the best Mother’s Day yet! Please comment below about your own Mother’s Day ideas, what has worked well or what you plan to do, we always welcome new ideas!

It’s light and easily wiped clean making it perfect for a garden picnic on a hot summer’s day. When not in use, you can perch the sparrow salad servers onto the edge of the salad bowl to make a lovely table decoration. We’ve also got the Sparrow Serving Spoons to match! The sparrow set contains a ladle, a spaghetti server, a slotted spoon and a solid spoon. The handles are also sparrow-shaped and delightfully cute! The utensil holder is shaped like branches and, when not in use, the servers sit adorably on the branches and watch over your kitchen. Our sparrow serving set brings spring into your home!

So this is another issue that has caught our attention recently. We think that litter of any kind is unacceptable but the dumping of plastic waste into the sea by our own UK suppliers is simply INTOLERABLE! As a heartbreaking consequence killer whales are being intoxicated and are washing up ashore, dead. Please help this petition reach 200,000 signatures and be apart of a remarkable movement attempting to help save our killer whales.

A sperm whale that washed up in Spain died after swallowing almost 60 different pieces of plastic dumped by the greenhouses that supply Tesco, Carrefour and Aldi.
This 4.5 tonne whale was defeated by 17 kg of plastic waste, including two dozen sections of the transparent sheeting used to cover industrial greenhouses. There’s no excuse for these giant supermarkets’ failure to ensure their suppliers recycle and safely dispose of their deadly waste— but as long as they’re given a free pass, plastic will continue to swamp our oceans each year, and more whales will die.
Only about 1,000 sperm whales are left in the Mediterranean, and they feed near waters flooded by the greenhouse industry. Acre after acre of farmland in southern Spain is covered in reams of plastic sheeting to produce the perfect growing conditions for year round fruit and vegetables. Due to poor waste disposal, this plastic ends up floating in the Mediterranean.
Now these whales are under threat from swallowing huge quantities of non-degradable plastics. If we lose the whales, we disable an entire ecosystem —and all because grocery stores are too lazy to monitor their suppliers.
Our supermarket chains could easily ensure that plastics used to grow our fruit and vegetables are disposed of correctly and recycled. But so far, they are walking away and counting their profits — and as they do, our oceans and seas are dying. Let’s not let another whale die from too much plastic.
This isn’t the first time we’ve taken on the big supermarket chains. We came together to take on the might of Tesco in the UK when it was electronically tagging its workers, and we won a landmark campaign in the US demanding that Trader Joe’s help farm workers get paid a fair wage. Now we need to come together and take on Tesco, Aldi and Carrefour demand they help save the whales.
Thank you. 🙂
Get your sledges, hats and gloves at the ready! Where will you be going sledging this year?
Why this is important
I spent two days agonizing over the fate of my relatives. But when I finally reached my brother, it filled me with renewed strength and great relief. He survived the onslaught, and for the last few days, he has been helping gather dead bodies. He is hungry and weary as food supplies find it difficult to arrive in the hardest hit areas.
But beyond the colossal humanitarian challenge ahead, we must take the courage to face the truth: the superstorm was not just another natural disaster — it was made stronger and more deadly by human-caused climate change. For too long, those countries with the greatest capacity to act and greatest responsibility for the problem have shirked their obligations to cut pollution as the science demands. That has locked-in climate change, and could lock-in even worse impacts to come.
So I’ve taken a rare step as a public servant — I’ve gone beyond the usual conventions to start an Avaaz petition. I’m appealing to Avaaz members to stand in solidarity with the people of the Philippines and all victims of climate change worldwide. Together our voices can push the governments meeting at the UN climate summit happening now to ratchet up pollution controls and help poorer communities with funding.
The question that will determine our survival is: can humanity rise to the occasion? I still believe we can. Sign the petition today, and forward it to everyone, and I will deliver it personally at the talks.

The awesome new rucksack and suitcase for kids!
We have fallen in love with these kids suitcases, we just can’t decide as full grown adults if we can get away with owning one or not. However they definitely are the perfect companion for Kids, made from a wipe clean material, bright colours and funky light up wheels they make the job of getting kids to carry their own stuff a lot easier.
As the Luggos are designed to allow use as both a pull along case or backpack they are ideal for holidays, school or just fun days. The Luggo childrens suitcases come in 2 super cool designs – Robot & Bee – kid’s just love them. The wheels that light up in red, green and blue simply wow them and as far as kids luggage goes it really doesn’t get more awesome! The function has even been thought about down to the very last detail, they have an extendable handle for the case to be pulled along and they have adjustable backpack straps so they can be carried on a child’s back (or yours, haha), and probably most impressively, if the backpack straps have been in use and you want to change to pull-along, as you lift the pull-along handle up the backpack straps automatically retract into the case so they’re nicely out of the way. Excellent – we know, and it doesn’t stop there either; there are 3 sections inside, a pocket storage area and 3 pen pockets which all means one thing, it’s perfect for holding all sorts of things to keep the kids entertained. This really is the best new item of childrens luggage we have seen in a very long time…
